BatamFast Ferry SG To Desaru Coach Ferry Terminal
If you have the flexibility of time, you can take the BatamFast Ferry from Singapore to Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal for your Desaru Coast holiday.
Our step-by-step guide below will walk you through the whole process.
Along the way, you will find important notes and reminders as well as photos so that you can better visualize and prepare for your trip.
How To Go Desaru From Singapore By Ferry
Step 1: Buy SG To Desaru Ticket Online
To purchase your ferry tickets, go to the Batamfast website. Choose your desired date of departure and return. You can check out the ferry schedule here: ferry to Desaru schedule.
It’s important you plan your trip well as the ferry ONLY operates from Thursday to Monday. Ferry service during weekdays will open during school holidays.
So how will you know the ferry is available during your travel date? Well, as long as there’s an option to buy the ticket, you’re in the clear.

Step 2: Heading To Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
You can choose to arrive at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal by car or by bus.
There are 3 buses you can take: Changi Shuttle Bus from Changi Airport, or Bus 35/35M from Bedok Bus Interchange and Tanah Merah MRT Station.
For complete details about transport to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, refer to Changi Shuttle Bus To Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and Public Bus To Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.
Step 3: Get Your Ferry Boarding Pass At BatamFast Counter
You will need to collect your ferry boarding pass on the day of travel, even if you’ve bought them online.
Simply go to the BatamFast ticket counter at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Hand them your passport and they will print out 2 boarding passes for you (if you bought a return ticket).

Reminder:
- The ferry only has 1 trip per day. To ensure you don’t miss your ferry, please try to arrive at least 1 hour before boarding.
- During non-peak season, 30 minutes is good enough. But to be safe, an hour is better.
Step 4: Proceed SG Custom Clearance, Wait for Ferry Arrival, and Onboard
Once done with customs clearance, you can check the monitor to see if your gate is open for boarding.

Step 5: 90 Minutes Ferry Ride To Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal
The ferry will depart at 8:30am. You’ll be heading to the ferry like this:

There are two seating areas on the ferry: indoor and outdoor.
Indoors, you’ll get the comfort of the air-conditioner. It’s also more quiet inside.

Outside, the engine noises are much louder.
But you’ll get an amazing seaview— the reason why some people choose to travel by ferry. It’s also why I decided to sit outdoors for the whole 90-minute journey.
