SBS Bus To JB
Aside from taking a Causeway Link bus to JB, you can also choose to take an SBS bus to cross the border via Woodlands Checkpoint.
If you’re heading to Mid Valley Southkey, KSL City Mall, Komtar JBCC, Johor Premium Outlets, Aeon Tebrau and Mount Austin, take a SBS bus from Singapore to JB CIQ First Link.
Each of these buses below go to JB CIQ First Link only. Here, you’ll have to get off for immigration clearance.

Once you have cleared immigration, you can proceed to your next destination.
If you want to go to Komtar JB CC or City Square JB, follow the signboards and walk from JB CIQ First Link to JB Sentral, then to Komtar JB CC or City Square JB.
If Larkin Sentral is where you want to go next, take SBS Bus 170 from JB CIQ First Link. An alternative is the CWL bus.
If you’re heading elsewhere in JB, follow the signboards and walk to JB Sentral Bus Terminal. From there, take a local public bus to your desired destination.
SBS 160 Bus: Jurong Town Hall Bus Interchange to JB CIQ First Link

SBS 160 is one of three cross-border transport services operated by SBS Transit, alongside bus 170 and 170X.
This is the only bus that goes to JB via Woodlands from Jurong Town Hall Interchange.
Few Things To Note:
- This is not a recommended bus to take to cross the Singapore-Malaysia border because it has too many stops in-between.

If you’re looking for transport to Larkin Sentral, take SBS 170. It will stop at the checkpoint for immigration clearance. You can re-board the bus as it resumes its journey to Larkin Sentral.
However, this bus is not recommended because it has so many stops, which adds to your travel time.
Few Things To Note:
- It’s about 15 minutes walk either from Bugis MRT Station or Rachor MRT Station to Queen Street Bus Terminal.
- From Bugis MRT Station, take exit A or B, walk along Victoria Street until you meet Arab Street, and turn left to Queen Street Terminal (bus terminal code: 01109).
- From Rochor MRT, take either exit A or B, walk towards Ophir Road, turn left to Rochor Canal Road, then turn right to Ban San Street. (bus terminal code: 01109)
- Queen Street Bus Terminal is an outdoor bus terminal.

SBS 170x Bus: Kranji MRT to JB CIQ First Link

SBS 170X has the shortest journey time to JB CIQ First Link (excluding waiting time). This makes it the most popular bus transport choice from Kranji MRT.
The distance to the checkpoint is pretty short, with only 5 stops in-between. But queues can get especially long during peak-periods.
Few Things To Note:
- From Kranji MRT station, take exit C to the bus stop. (bus stop code: 45139)
- The bus usually arrives every 2-3 mins.
- Huge crowds are expected on weekends, so leave your house early.
- After office hours on Friday, be prepared for bad congestion. This is because many Malaysians take this bus home to JB.
